HIV/AIDS prevention and community sensitization project in rumbek. The pilot project was aimed at creating awareness, sensitizing community and local authorities in the communities, schools and the health centres and radio stations in Lakes State.
The program activities covered by the project include;
1. Community awareness meetings
2. Formation of the health committees in the selected primary health care centres, primary health care units and hospitals within Rumbek.
3. Playing of health awareness messages (jingles) via Radio 89.0FM every weekend (Saturday and Sunday.
4. Conduct Radio Live talk shows with stakeholders as the guests of the
activity, state ministry of health and ministry of information.
5. Conduct training for 3 days training for health care workers as HIV/AIDS
peer educators
6. Conduct two weeks training for Clinical officers and Nurses in the hospital as Counsellors of HIV/AIDS.
